Don:
Saw you on O’Reilly one night… actually, my wife saw you and called to me. Somehow she knew that I knew you (I also know Tim Eades who shows up on FOX periodically….) You looked GREAT!!!! Read some of your essays and checked out your photos from the track meet. Impressive. I hope you’re doing well. I am no longer at CID. After two more years in Europe, I’m starting my second year at FT Monroe as the PAO for the Northeast Region of the Army’s Installation Management Agency. We have all the posts from NC/VA border to Canada, West to the Ohio border. It’s all BASOPS. Take Care! Sandy

Dear Sir:
Thank you for your little article on the Comp-N-Choke and how it retards the velocity of the wad in shotshells. I have read this before and really didn’t know whether or not to believe it. I agree that velocity is not reduced, but have wondered about the validitiy of slowing the wad upon exit from the choke. Yours is the first explanation which made any sense at all, and your observation that your targets were breaking more violently seems to prove the theory of “wad stripping” in Comp-N-Choke. I live in Nashville, shoot at Nashville Gun Club, and personally use Nigel Teague chokes as they utilize the full length of the choke for taper with no parallel section. I also believe a more gradual taper leads to better patterns for obvious reasons. I am interested in the Comp-N-Choke now!
