Almost down on the field
I wrote two days ago about going to the Monday Night Football game of the Chiefs at Titans. And I critiqued the marketing of the MNF show.
About a week ago I posted asking opinions of whether I should write a new cell-phone contract with Verizon or Cingular.
Put both matters together and you get this:

Our seats were about a dozen rows up from the north end zone. I took this picture of the beginning of the Titans' first touchdown play using an LG-6100 camera cell phone set at 640X480 resolution. It's not a bad little camera for snapshooting stuff like this.
I decided to renew with Verizon, the service I was already using, because of their coverage area. Even here in Tennessee it is far greater than Cingular's. I now have four phones on our family share plan, one now to go to my Marine son, who is stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif. If he goes overseas after finishing AAV School, Verizon will drop the phone from the contract without penalty. Cingular, OTOH, said that if I dropped a phone off the contract for any reason I'd be charged $150.
Sayonara, Cingular.
Update: Coincidentally, just after I posted this, Living Room Blog posted "Camera Phone Tips - Taking Great Photos with your Camera Phone."
