Spiderman II: great movie
Spiderman 2 is a finely crafted movie that draws you into the movie world with skill. This is not really an action movie per se, though it has plenty of it. The movie's basic theme is the conflict between desire and duty, between self-fulfillment and self-denial. As I briefly posted last night, the movie is a metaphor for America's place in the world at this time.
Peter Parker, aka Spiderman, loves Mary Jane Watson ("MJ"), who loves him in return. But Parker knows that Spiderman will always have enemies, and that fact would place MJ in harm's way if they became a couple. Hence, Parker represses his love for her.
