God, Hell and human destiny
I want to blog about these posts but haven't started yet. Until I get the fabled "rountuit," I invite you to read -

  • Michael Williams' post about religious syncretization of Christians in America, the post that started a furious online debate.

  • That post led to this energetic and often profane denunciation of Christianity in general by Dean Esmay; include the comments in your reading.

  • In a comment therein, I linked to an essay on my now-defunct religious news blog, "Can we really believe in Hell?" Its companion piece addresses whether heaven is a private club only for the church.

  • Michael Williams responded to Dean's post here.

I addressed back in August many of the issues Dean decries. (Dean, they bothered the ancient faithful, too.) This post has an index.

Update: Dean points the way to the post of a man who says he once believed as Dean does, but now is a believer and is better for it.
