Post-Modern Religionists and the New York Times
So posts Sparkey over at Sgt Stryker's.

A few decades ago, American theologian H. Richard Niebuhr indicted liberal Christians for teaching "a God without wrath who brings humans without sin into a kingdom without judgment through a Christ without a cross." There's no telling what he would have thought about religious post-modernists.

Sparkey links to a cites at length an article on the site of the Institute for the Secularisation of Islamic Society by Irfan Khawaja entitled, "Muslims and Christians in Denial: Five Letters from the New York Times."

For persons interested in the nexus of world affairs and religion, the reading is most worthwhile.
